Its everyones worst nightmare to

Get that call. The one that is at 5:24AM, marked as URGENT on your phone.. from one of your parents cell phones.

I got that call. I woke up to my alarm at 5:55AM so i could go to a spinning aerobics class. I woke up excited, pumped to do this. Looked on my phone and just got a bad feeling. I called my moms cell phone back and it was my uncle scott who picked up. Which must be the SCARIEST thing.

"Hey..
(looong pause)
um, your dad.. had a stroke.
deeeep breath..
they said its not looking good, were waiting to see what is gonna happen.
Mom cant talk right now."

Ive been in a pretty big fight with him for a couple months now. I just moved out about a month ago. Life will change traumatically if he passes away right now. Im too far away for comfort.

Things havnt been good at home at all. I dont know if my mom can handle this.
I dont know if I can handle this.

who knows, maybe this could result in a big change for his life and be a lesson.
..we can only hope.

I woke up today

When i did, one of my glass plugs (gauges) was on the floor. Mind you I have top bunk in my dorm. It shattered. It was disappointing. My roommate had an unexpected emergency at home and had to return there for about a week. It has been very lonely at night! :(

Today classes went well. I accidentally fell asleep in my Earth Science class though. Rough, I know. I had Public Speaking from 6-9, and I have to say it didn't drag as much as last class did. Im learning a lot in my classes!

Any time food miles can be reduced from the average of almost 1500 in the United States to 100 or less, it's going to make a big, green difference. It celebrates the food that comes from the land near you, fresh and in season, connecting you to the place you live and the people who live there and grow your food.

My favorite moment today was going into one of the practice rooms with Emma and Chris. They both played the piano, Chris also sang. It was really nice, I wish I had musical talent like them. Im truly envious.

Starting a compost pile in the backyard can reduce your household waste and generate a wonderful fertilizer for your garden. Vegetable scraps, egg shells, coffee grinds, and yard trimmings are all great for composting. Leave out any meat, dairy or greasy foods that may attract rodents and pests. 3 to 6 months after you start, you’ll have a dark, crumbly material that’s better than chemical-laden fertilizers for growing plants.

when ever i hang out with emma and jeremy, i have a really good day.

last day of august.

I hope it feels like September really soon, I've been waiting for autumn . Its a great time to start a blog.

I am going to include a few things in my blog each day:

-A quote that I feel a strong connection with
-One way to help become more Eco-friendly
-My favorite moment of the day

I believe this will help me develop a stronger sense of self-being in this planet, which makes me feel much better about being alive!

-Thomas Jefferson

Wash clothes in cold water whenever possible. As much as 85 percent of the energy used to machine-wash clothes goes to heating the water.

Today I woke up next to my beautiful 5yr old cousin Carlee. She was so excited I let her sleep with me, her face was glowing.
